Thanksgiving 2009 has come and gone, but the holiday was another memorable one for the family. Cam and Sara drove in from Chicago for the holiday. We decided to experiment with the turkey this year by deep frying it, rather then baking. Alex handled the cooking of the turkey, with one hand on the propane tank and the other hand on the fire extingusher.
Dinner turned out fantastic and the group enjoyed a colorful and delicious Thanksgiving meal.
Dessert followed that evening with friends joining the holiday fun. Pumpkin Pie and the traditional family Chocolate Pie were shared (it's a century's old family receipe...)
Friday was an open day for showing Sara around Northeast Ohio. We drove downtown and showed her the sites, and followed that with a visit to the Cleveland Art Museum. The museum is fantastic and, remarkably, is free to all visitors. We spent the afternoon experiencing all types of history and art, including painting, pottery, furniture, and armor (Alex's favorite).
